What FUE actually is
Follicular Unit Extraction removes hair follicles one at a time from the back and sides of your head, where hair is genetically resistant to falling, and places them along a hairline designed for your face. There is no strip, no stitch line, and nothing to hide once the redness settles.
Who it suits
Men and women with a stable donor area and a defined pattern of loss — typically Norwood 2 to 6. If your loss is very recent, diffuse, or driven by thyroid, iron or medication, we will treat that first and review you before recommending surgery.
How the day runs at HRG
Your sitting happens in a hospital-attached operation theatre with monitored vitals and an anaesthetist on call, not a clinic room. The surgeon you met at consultation performs both extraction and placement. Grafts are held in chilled preservation solution to keep out-of-body time short, which is the single biggest factor in whether a graft survives.
Recovery, honestly
Plan for five to seven days away from work. Swelling settles in the first three days, scabs fall away in about a week, and by day ten most people are back to routine. Transplanted hair sheds in month one — this is expected. Growth starts around month four, is visible to others by month six, and reaches full thickness at ten to twelve months.
