Search for a hair transplant in Rohini and you will find a dozen clinics within a few kilometres, all promising natural results. The photos look similar, the prices do not. This guide walks through the questions that actually separate one clinic from another — the same questions we encourage every patient to ask us.
1. Who will actually perform the surgery?
This is the single most important question. In many low-cost setups the doctor draws the hairline and leaves, and technicians extract and place grafts for the next seven hours. Ask directly who holds the punch and who places the grafts, and ask for it in writing. At HRG the surgeon who examines you is the one who operates, with technicians assisting.
2. Where will the surgery happen?
A large session can last eight hours under local anaesthesia and involve thousands of tiny incisions. That belongs in an operation theatre with monitored vitals, sterile protocol and emergency backup. Ask to see the room. Our procedures take place in a hospital-attached OT.
3. How is the graft count decided?
Two people with what looks like the same baldness can need very different graft counts. Density, donor supply and hair thickness are measured with a trichoscope in about ten minutes. A final number quoted over WhatsApp from one photo is a guess — useful as a rough range, not as a plan.
4. Is the price written and final?
Ask for the graft count, technique and total on paper, and ask what could be added on the day. A trustworthy quote includes surgeon fee, OT charges, medicines, the surgical kit, your first wash and follow-up. If those are billed later, the original quote was never the real number.
5. What happens after surgery?
Transplanted hair sheds in the first month and regrows from month three or four. Those months are when patients need reassurance most. Look for scheduled reviews with standardised photographs for a full year — not one phone call after the first wash.
6. Will they tell you if you do not need surgery?
A meaningful number of people who walk in expecting a transplant leave with medication and a review date instead, because their shedding is caused by thyroid, iron, stress or a recent illness. A clinic that never says "not yet" is selling, not treating.
